CRCA was founded in July 2000 on a private initiative, as a not for profit non-governmental organization. CRCA’s Board of Directors is composed of the chairman, vice chairman, and three members of the board. The Board of Directors has appointed a Director who is responsible for the smooth operation of CRCA’s programs and further development. CRCA is an organization of rehabilitation counseling practitioners, educators, students and volunteers of other professions who are concerned in improving the lives of persons with disabilities and of the socially disadvantaged. CRCA's goal is to provide the type of leadership that encourages excellence in the areas of rehabilitation counseling practice, research, consultation, service provision and professional development. CRCA is equally interested in eliminating environmental and attitudinal barriers so that more opportunities are available to persons with disabilities with regards to education, employment, and community inclusion. These goals are addressed by CRCA through public education, research, project development and policy making. |
